Breakfast, 7 am Qingdao
We found this place that looked similar to the food I had in X’ian.  It was just opening and it looked decent enough and more importantly there were photos of the food.. The photos were located high up so, there was a lot of pointing and charades going on.   i wasn’t confident of what were were getting but, it worked out.
a tomato and meat broth. There was a really nice, sesame oil back note. There was silky ribbons of egg and some homemade noodles in it.

When you think Brooklyn Food. One can’t help but think of Italian Food. And what is one of Italian Foods greatest claim to fame, that’s right, it’s pizza my friends, pizza.

Barboncino is a relatively new pizza place to come on to the Brooklyn Scene. Located on Franklin Ave in Bushwick, it’s the new hot pizza place is the new hot area.  The space is beautiful, the oven is beautiful, most importantly, the pizza is beautiful.  Though only a few months old, the place runs like it has been open for decades.  This may be my favorite pizza place is Brooklyn.  The thing I like best about the pizza here is the tomato sauce. It’s really bright and beautiful.

This is the plain Margherita Pizza:

With the leftover rice, I made some arancini from two nights ago. it was a saffron Carolina rice. On certain days in the local grocery, if you buy 100 dollars worth of groceries, they sell you a 20 pound bag of rice for 2 bucks or something. We have so much damn rice.. i just added an egg and some mozzarella. served with this really bright tomato sauce

Sorry, I have to start thinking more like a blogger.   I take photos of the prep just fine, it’s just when the food comes out, well, then it is go time. So it’s hard for me to stop and add an extra step. I am sure this will take some minor readjusting.

Was out and about today. We covered close to 7 miles on our walk.  We went to the Brooklyn Museum to check out the Keith Haring Exhibit.  While I was impressed with the museum, the Haring collection was not all that exciting. Lots of black and whites and a few on canvas. It seemed to be all the same thing.

Good Morning,

We had a wonderful weekend hosting an event for BBC America and their new television show No Kitchen Required.  The show looks fantastic, the evening went so well. We cooked a traditional Mexican meal.  We had 25 bloggers attend the event. Such wonderful talented photographers and writers.

I will keep updating as the reviews and blogs come in.

Thanks,

Daniel
