So, here was dinner last night. It was really high end. I think it was like 120 bucks for the three of us. Essentially, it was the equivalent of going to Per Se and getting like the truffle and wine tasting add ons. The food here is unique.. It’s international let’s say in its presentation and preparation.
Here you have tofu skins wrapped up like little crepes sitting in a chicken broth.. Super delicate, really lovely.. The serving dish is definitely the game changer here. Like nothing i have seen in 99 percent of the restaurants.
Local greens. I have never tasted greens like this. They were excellent. And the cutting edge molded presentation, blew my mind back to 2001. But seriously, this is not stuff you see everyday here. Or any day really.. We are not in Shanghai here.

Pressed pork in gelatine. This was 98 rmb, which is very expensive for a dish.. About 14 dollars. i have eaten meals with 3 people for 14 dollars.

Mock Duck in Phyllo. I have had a phyllo type dish before but, this is another unique ingredient to traditional Chinese Food.. At least what i have found.
Clams set in tofu. It looks like a custard but, it is not. I ordered it from the menu. This was not very exciting. Certainly style over substance. It was bland.

These were like little thimbles.. I was told they are fungus. Delicious fungus among us. Had the same consistency as a wood ear.

Scallops with glass noodles are garlic.. Nothing fancy about this dish though, this is a very traditional cantonese dish to begin with.. And Cantonese is pretty classy on it’s own. This was wonderful. As good a version as I have had. Though, it was served to us with a guy using two spoons. If only they had some sort of stick like implement they used that would have been easier.

Simple steamed fish. Some soy and some peppers.. The kicker was, they deboned and deskinned table side with spoons again.
This dish was amazing.. It was like an orange beef with tons of peppers.. The peppers were close to a jalapeño but, had a citrus note. If you are able to handle heat and appreciate the difference between the taste of a jalapeño or a habanero, this is truly interesting.. My dining companion just tasted blinding heat but, the peppers was one of the more interesting dishes..
For dessert we had this pastry filled with sweet pork cubes.. It was a wonderful restaurant and a very unique experience.. A wonderful experience.
